Aureole Press was established in 1989 to facilitate its proprietor's desire to make books by hand and has been housed at the University of Toledo since 1997. Inspired by the traditions of the American private press, this imprint devotes itself to crafting books and broadsides of serious contemporary poetry by both new and acclaimed authors in finely printed limited editions. To this end Aureole Press will remain a text-oriented fine press—collaborating with authors and artists in designing, illustrating, printing and binding important works of poetry—striving to create meaningful pieces of literary and artistic merit.
