Aureole Press was established in 1989 to facilitate its proprietor's desire to make books by hand. Inspired by the traditions of the American private press, this imprint will devote itself to crafting books and broadsides of serious contemporary writing by both new and acclaimed authors in finely printed limited editions. To this end Aureole Press will remain a text-oriented fine press - collaboration with writers and artists in designing, illustrating, printing and binding important works of poetry and prose - striving to create meaningful pieces of literary and artistic merit, and having a fine time at it.
